      What is the Listing Quality Index and how to increase it?

      At JamesEdition, we are delighted to introduce our Listing Quality Index (LQI) algorithm to help you evaluate the quality and improve your listings on the platform.

      Where can I see my Listing Quality Index?

      Your score can be found in your Business Account under the My Listings section. Please note that this feature is currently available exclusively for real estate listings.

      How Listing Quality Index is calculated

      The LQI is calculated automatically by our internal algorithm, based on a variety of listing features:

      • Photos (quality and quantity)
      • Description length
      • Amenities
      • Price availability 
      • Address availability (exact or street only)
      • Video 
      • 3D or virtual tour
      • Completeness of other parameters

      Why is the Listing Quality Index important?

      Improving the Listing Quality Index is crucial for any seller. The LQI impacts your results, performance, and listing appearance in organic search results. Our algorithm considers all information provided about the listings.

      It ranges from 0 to 100. Ideally, you want your score to be above 70 (this number may vary by region) to increase your visibility and the number of buyer inquiries you receive.

      How can I increase my Listing Quality Index?

      There are several things you can do to improve your LQI:

      1. Make sure your listing has a detailed description. Include information about amenities, features, and key details such as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms.
      2. Fill in all the fields requested when creating your listing. The more information you provide, the higher your score will be.

      3. Include the exact address (or at least the city) of your listing. This will help us show a more precise location on the map.
      4. Upload at least 16 high-quality pictures (this may vary depending on the region), with dimensions of around 1600X900 pixels, paying particular attention to the cover photo.
        Even though the minimum recommended size is 1024x641 pixels, feel free to use a higher resolution for a higher LQI score.
        There is no limit to the maximum dimension or resolution. All dimensions that fit within the 20MB file size limit are acceptable. 
      5. Make sure the listing’s cover photo doesn’t have a watermark. Ideally, other pictures of your listing should also be uploaded without a watermark for a higher LQI.
      6. Include a YouTube/Vimeo video and a Virtual tour to enhance your listing.  
      7. Display the prices. Listings marked as Price on Request (P.O.R) will have a lower LQI than those with an actual price.
      8. Listings created manually tend to have higher quality and hence, LQI.
        However, we support "mixed" (hybrid) integration: you can use your CRM for the initial upload and then edit listings manually on JamesEdition.
      9. Keep your listing frequently updated and make any necessary changes to improve its quality.
