What to do if someone else advertises my listing without authorization?

How to report a listing if you are the owner or a real estate agency and someone advertises your listing?

Dear user, as you may know, JamesEdition is not a selling agency, but an international online marketplace that provides a safe and secure platform for buyers to contact sellers directly.

On our platform, each real estate partner agency is responsible for their portfolio and we are not entitled to edit or remove any of their information without an actual legal case. Our protocol for removing an unauthorised listing is simple.

The first step would be to contact the agency directly and inform them of the situation, ask them to remove the unauthorised listing out of goodwill. You can contact the seller through our contact form, which can be found on every listing page (with a phone call or message field), or even visit their actual office.

If you receive a negative response to your enquiry - please let us know that at support@jamesedition.com. We will then contact the agency for clarification. In case we see that the agency is not willing to cooperate - we will ask you to send us one of these legal documents:

1) Proof of ownership (if you are the owner)
2) Valid exclusivity contract (if you are an agency)

We also admit official complaints filed to your local law enforcement authorities.

This will allow us to start the investigation and take action to remove the listing.

Please note that when a property is listed by multiple agencies due to homeowner decision - we cannot intervene.

We should also mention that sometimes a sold listing that is still on the platform can be a simple technical error due to delayed portfolio update, so it is always preferable to check with the selling agency before filing an official complaint.

We hope you found this article useful. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
