How Do Leads Work on JamesEdition?

Where your leads come from, how they are delivered, and how to manage them effectively.

Types of leads

There are two types of leads you can receive on JamesEdition.

Standard inquiries: A buyer finds one of your listings on JamesEdition and sends you a message or request. The inquiry is delivered to your inbox and, if configured, to your email.

Vendor Leads: A private property owner submits their property to JamesEdition and requests to be matched with an agent. JamesEdition reviews the lead and forwards it to relevant agencies. Vendor Leads appear at the top of your inbox, clearly labelled, and are also sent by email.

How leads are delivered

Leads arrive in two places:

  • Inbox: accessible from your Business Account. All standard inquiries and Vendor Leads appear here.
  • Email: if you have set up email notifications, you will also receive leads by email.

Routing leads to a specific agent or email

If your agency has multiple agents, you can control who receives leads:

  1. Assign listings to agents: each listing can be assigned to a specific agent in your Business Account. When a buyer inquires about that listing, the assigned agent receives the lead.
  2. Update your contact email: make sure the email address in your Business Account settings is the one you want to receive lead notifications.

Tips for managing your leads

  • Check your inbox daily. Buyers and sellers expect a fast response. Agencies that respond promptly see better conversion rates.
  • Prioritise Vendor Leads. A seller has requested to be matched with an agent and is waiting to hear from you. They appear at the top of your inbox.
  • Keep your listings up to date. Accurate listings attract more qualified leads and reduce unnecessary back-and-forth.
  • Review the details before responding. Whether it is a buyer inquiry or a Vendor Lead, reading the full details before you reply allows you to give a more relevant, personalised response.

Frequently asked questions

Why am I not receiving leads? Check that your listings are active and your subscription is current. If your listings are inactive or your subscription has lapsed, leads will not be delivered.

Can multiple agents access the same inbox? Each agent sees inquiries for their assigned listings. If you manage multiple offices, the Master Dashboard gives you an overview across all of them.

How do I know if a message is a Vendor Lead or a standard inquiry? Vendor Leads are clearly labelled in your inbox and appear at the top of your message list.

Where can I see all my past leads? All leads are stored in your inbox in your Business Account. You can scroll through past conversations at any time.
