# How to recognise genuine JamesEdition emails and avoid scams
## How to avoid being scammed and hacked by imposters pretending to be JE team?
Scammers sometimes pretend to be JamesEdition to get access to your account or your money.
**1. Check the sender's address**
Genuine JamesEdition emails come only from these domains:
- **@jamesedition.com** (our team and support)
- **@account.jamesedition.com** (inquiries)
- **@info.jamesedition.com** (newsletters, alerts and notifications, e.g. [noreply@info.jamesedition.com](mailto:noreply@info.jamesedition.com))
Watch for lookalike domains such as @jaemsedition.com, @jamessedition.com, @james-edition.com or @jamesedition.co. If the domain is different, don't reply or click any links. Block and report the sender.
**2. Payments and invoices**
Invoices, payment requests and receipts are sent by our payment providers **Stripe** and **Chargebee** on behalf of JamesEdition, so they come from their addresses, not from @jamesedition.com. These are genuine.
We never ask for card or bank details by email, chat or phone. If a payment email looks unusual (an unexpected amount, new bank details, or pressure to pay immediately), don't pay through the link. Forward it to us first (see step 3).
**3. Not sure? Ask us before you act**
Forward the email to **[support@jamesedition.com](mailto:support@jamesedition.com)** or use the chat in the bottom-right corner of the website. You can also contact your account manager directly. We'll confirm whether the email came from us.
**4. Protect your email account**
Your JamesEdition account is only as safe as the email account you log in with. Use a strong, unique password and turn on two-step verification for your email.
