Informatic risks to be aware of in your email communications

How to avoid being scammed and hacked by imposters pretending to be JE team?

Dear User,

As you may know, JamesEdition is a luxury marketplace that attracts millions of potential luxury buyers. Our audience is growing every day.

Practice shows that the more public attention a company gets, the more scammers it attracts, so we have to be cautious about our digital and informatic security.

While we can responsibly say that our team is constantly performing security checks and we can guarantee that your account cannot be compromised on our side, unfortunately we cannot say the same about your personal email account, which is your access to your JamesEdition profile.

There are many ways in which one can be scammed. We would like to outline the steps you can take to avoid a potential threat.

Typically, scammers or fraudsters send out emails with a subject of elevated urgency, such as your subscription cancellation warning, payment problems, or an issue with your integration, in order to speed up your response and insist on immediate action.

If you receive a suspicious email, the steps are simple:

1) Before replying or following any links you may receive - please pay close attention to the sender's address. It is very important that the domain is spelt correctly: @jamesedition.com.

Some scammers may try to confuse you with another variation that looks very similar: @jaemsedition.com / @jaimsedition.com / @jamessedition.com / @james.edition.com

If the domain is different - please be sure to report and block this sender.

2) If the domain is correct, but you still suspect something, please make sure you forward this email to our official address: customer-team@jamesedition.com, from there we will be able to confirm if this communication came from our team or not. You can also contact one of our trusted colleagues that you have been in contact with previously and they will be happy to help you confirm the source of the letter you have received.

3) Apart from contacting us via email you can reach out via our live chat that is integrated in the platform itself and can be found in the downright corner of the screen.

As a good practice we also recommend you to change your email passwords from time to time, in case your email was hacked previously. In this case their access to your information and your account will be denied.

If you have any doubts about your account please do not hesitate to contact us any time, and we will be happy to help you via @support@jamesedition.com.

Our best regards,

Your Customer Support Team.
